All one can say about last weekend was that it was a race that almost was. Unfortunately that rain just couldn’t stay away and the races were called just as the Truck Stocks made it to the track.

Due to the astronomical amount of rain that has invaded all of us this season and last week in particular it should be considered somewhat of a miracle that there actually was a race this weekend but the odds sided with us in most respects, and, thanks to the helping hands of many who donated time and resources, the races became a reality.

Strange how the disasters (or thrills for some) seem to happen more in Turn-2 than anywhere else.

One thing we all, as race fans, have to understand is that while the drivers and crews faces dangers out on the track, there are still some dangers that spectators face.

The weather co-operated once again with lots of sunshine and temperatures more conducive to summer although South Alberta weather is notorious for throwing a monkey wrench into one’s weekend activities.

You couldn't have wanted a nicer day for racing than last Saturday.
